Hope you are doing well. Spring is here, March Madness is over, baseball is back in session, and the masters is on this week. Soon it will be the NHL/NBA playoffs and then football will be back before you know it! There have been 3 arrests since the last update. Let’s get into them.
Green Bay CB Makinton Dorleant
On 3/26 early Sunday Morning Mr. Hall and Dorleant were involved in an incident at the bar, Sharkey’s Fun House in Iowa, where bouncers refused them entry and then police were called. Mr Hall was intoxicated and caused a scene- the police had to tase him after he resisted arrest. Mr. Dorleant allegedly tried to grab Mr. Hall and pull him away from the officer, while the police instructed him to stay back. Both were booked and later released on bond. Hall was charged with Interference, public intoxication, and disorderly conduct, Bonus point for taser. 2 + 1+ 1 +1 = 5 points for da bears! Dorleant was charged with interference and bonus point for 1st I believe, divisionial rival arrests, if not first multiple team arrests. 2 +1 = 3 points for the Packers.
That’s right, the Bears beat the Packers where it really counts- the FCL scoreboard.
Early Monday morning 3/27 at 2 am, Mr. Boykin was a passenger in a car that crashed
into a Dallas bar. Mr. Boykin’s friend, Shabrika Bailey, allegedly was intoxicated and backed into the bar, while trying to leave a parking garage. Several people were injured, they were pedestrians and bar patrons/workers. She was charged with 2 counts of intoxication assault. Mr. Boykin left the scene of the accident but police found his ID and debit card and Ms. Bailey called him to come back. Upon returning, Boykin spoke with police and he was intoxicated as well, also the police allegedly found a Gucci bag with 7 grams of marijuana. So he was charged with public intoxication and possession of marijuana. He was released from custody Monday afternoon. The Seahawks are aware of the arrest and are disappointed. 3 points for the drug possession, 1 point for public intox and 1 bonus point for the . 5 points for the Seattle Seahawks.
Well Jets and Colts are still tied for 1st place with 16 points each on 1 arrest. Ravens are in 3rd place with 12 points. Seahawks are in 4th place with 5 points and hold the tiebreaker over Bears with also 5 points due to the higher arrest tier charge. In 6th place are the Packers with 3 points. In 7th place are the Chargers with 2 points. Tied for 9th place with 1 point are the Rams and Chiefs. updates on their arrests are below. Be sure to get all your latest Fantasy Crime League news right here. Take Care
*Rams DE Ethan Westbrooks was not charged with his arrest related to domestic violence.
** Chiefs TE Demetrius Harris I believe still hasn’t been formally charged with felony marijuana possession- KC just signed another Tight End to a 1 year deal so maybe they are thinking he will be suspended for a little bit.
After the one week run off, the 49ers have been crowned the Fantasy Crime League champions once again in 2016. San Francisco 49ers are in 1st place with 20 points, the Los Angeles Rams finish in 2nd with 11 points, the Atlanta Falcons are in 3rd place with 8 points. The Indianapolis Colts are in 4th place with 7 points. The Denver Broncos are in 5th place with 6 points. The Philadelphia Eagles are in 6th place with 5 points. The Seattle Seahawks and Jacksonville Jaguars are tied for 8th place with 4 points. The Baltimore Ravens, New Orleans Saints, and Buffalo Bills finish tied for 11th place with 3 points. Carolina Panthers are in 12th place with 2 points and the Houston Texans are in 13th place with 1 point.
Looking at the NFL as a whole, arrests are down 33% (24 last year). Also crime points are down 35% (119 last year). Arrests were split 50/50 between the NFC and AFC. Only 1 division did not have any arrests and that is the NFC North. The NFC West dominated with 1st/2nd place and 3/4 teams getting points. Well we hope you had fun tracking the crime activity with us this off-season.
Everybody can now enjoy the players on field achievements. We look forward to the next off-season, we will see you right back here- immediately following Super Bowl LI. Take care.
-Assault with a deadly weapon, not a firearm (weapon alleged is a cane) (Felony) section 245- 4- c
-2 counts of assault with force likely to cause great bodily injury – (Felony) section 245-a 4
-Inflicting injury on an elder or dependent adult likely to cause great bodily injury –( Felony)
-Battery with serious bodily injury – (felony) section 243 – d
-2 counts of criminal threats ( felony)
-Battery – (misdemeanor) section 243- a
Well folks, this is probably the arrest of the off-season and more details/charges have arisen since the initial story broke out on this one. Early Monday morning 9/5- Mr. Miller was trying to enter a hotel room that was not his, which was being stayed in by an elderly couple. After the couple’s son staying next door, told Mr. Miller he had the wrong room, Mr. Miller allegedly attacked the son and the father came to his aid. Reportedly a cane was used in the melee which sent both the father and son to the hospital. Mr. Miller was released by the 49ers after the arrest. Using an elderly man’s own cane against him as a weapon is pretty twisted.
Previous to this incident, Mr. Miller was seen at a sandwich shop getting into an altercation because he wanted their brisket sandwich. It must have been a good sandwich.
Now for the points breakdown. The capping rules are stated as follows.
Felonies: 1st felony gets full points. 2nd felony gets half of the points tier and each additional felony charge of a similar nature results in 1 point. (Note for heinous crimes like rape and murder, the capping system will be lifted)
Misdemeanor: 1st misdemeanor gets full points and each additional misdemeanor charge of a similar nature gets 1 point.
Criminal threats and assaults are going to be considered to be similar, all felonies too.
4 (full) points for assault with deadly weapon, 2 ( half ) for first criminal threats, 1 for the other criminal threat and 1 point each for assault with force likely to cause great injury. (9)
The Batteries are obviously similar, but I am keeping the son and old man charges separate, because he did beat up 2 people.
Elder abuse felony- (full) 4 points, 1 felony count of battery with serious bodily injury (half) 2 points. the son assault- 3 points for the misdemeanor. 1 bonus point for the send off and 1 additional bonus point for the last (presumed) arrest.
4+2+1+1+1 +4 +2+3 +1+1 = 20 points for the Santa Clara 49ers.
I did check and I gave the 49ers 2 bonus points at the end of the season last year for the final arrest with Ahmad Brooks.
Well howdy folks, there’s been 3 arrests since the last Fantasy Crime League update. Let’s get into them.
Indianapolis Colts RB Robert Turbin
-Suspicion of possession of marijuana(misdemeanor)
Mr. Turbin was arrested for possession of marijuana on July 8 at 11:30 pm after being pulled over for a stop sign violation in Logan City, UT. Police smelled burnt marijuana in the car and found a marijuana cigarette inside the vehicle. Marijuana like many things in Utah, yes is a crime, so that is 3 points total for the Indianapolis Colts.
Buffalo Bills RB Jonathan Williams
Mr. Williams was arrested in Arkansas early morning on July 14 for DWI. He failed the field sobriety test, but did not agree to complete the breathalyzer test on advice from his agent. He bonded out later and faces a future court date. 3 points total for the Buffalo Bills.
Philadelphia Eagles LB Nigel Bradham
-Aggratved Battery (Felony)
On Monday, July 25th, Mr. Bradham turned himself into authorities regarding an incident on Thursday 7/21 at a Miami Hotel where he and his group allegedly beat up a cabana boy due to the time it took to get an umbrella. Bradham supposedly struck the employee in the face and said employee also got many lacerations and cuts, possibly from a glass bottle being smashed on top of his head. Bradham and the group then fled the scene. The Eagles are aware of the incident and have no comment. Well folks, thats 4 points for the felony battery and 1 bonus point for the story, hope their NFC East rivals play Rihanna- Umbrella whenever they can.
5 points total for the Philadelphia Eagles.
The LA Rams hold on to the top spot with 11 points. The Indianapolis Colts move up to 2nd with 7 points. The reigning champions the Denver Broncos are in 3rd place with 6 points. The Philadelphia Eagles are a new addition to the board and fly to 4th place with 5 points. The Seattle Seahawks and Jacksonville Jaguars are tied for 6th place with 4 points each. The Baltimore Ravens, New Orleans Saints, and Buffalo Bills are tied for 9th place with 3 points each. Rounding out 10th and 11th place are the Carolina Panthers and Houston Texans with 2 and 1 points respectively. Well looks like NFL Training Camps are in session or will soon be. The NFL season is nearly upon us. There will be a Pokemon GO Bonus Point should anyone charged in the FCL whilst playing said game.
Hope you have a great rest of the week and please be sure to get all your latest Fantasy Crime League news right here!
There has been 1 confirmed arrest since the last update, and surprisingly it belongs to the Detroit Lions, who have their first alleged criminal activity of the Jim Caldwell era, that’s nearly 15 months without an arrest!
Former Detroit Lions OL Rodney Austin
-Assault on a Female (Misdemeanor)
-Assault on a child < age 12 (Misdemeanor)
-Interfering with emergency communication (Misdemeanor)
Mr. Austin turned himself into the authorities on Friday 4/17/15 after the alleged victim went to the Mecklenburg County Magistrate’s Office and obtained a warrant for the arrest of Mr. Austin the day before (In North Carolina, this is permissible under the law). The incident which sparked the warrant was on Sunday 4/5/15 when Mr. Austin allegedly pushed the mother of his child down while she was holding their kid and then took her cell phone to forbid her from calling the authorities. When the police did arrive, they found no signs of injury and did not arrest Mr. Austin at the time.
Yes. Mr. Austin has spent much of his time with the Lions on the practice squad, but he was on the roster at the time of the arrest. (In fact, he may even come back to the team when this legal case gets resolved http://detroit.cbslocal.com/2015/04/24/mayhew-confirms-rodney-austin-could-return-to-lions-after-domestic-violence-case-resolved/)
3 points each for both assault charges, 2 points for misdemeanor larceny for taking the cell phone , 2 points for interfering with emergency communication (indirectly putting people in danger). 1 bonus point for another NFL domestic violence incident. 11 points total.
The Lions remove their division rival Packers from the top spot on the fantasy crime leader board. They have 11 points and are in 1st place. The Packers remain in 2nd with 10 points. The Ravens are in 3rd place with 9 points. The Colts and 49ers are in 4th and 5th place with 6 and 4 points respectively. Tied for 7th place are the Cowboys and Cardinals with a field goal. The Saints and Steelers round out 8th and 9th place. The rest of the league has no points. The NFC North holds the top 2 spots and accounts for nearly 43% of the total FCL points. The NFC and AFC are similar in arrests, (6 vs 5 respectively), but the NFC averages 2 points more per arrest and has 66% of the total FCL points.
Well it’s a big sports week, with the NFL draft starting on Thursday, where we will all be getting new players on our FCL rosters. As of now before the draft, without any trades: the Seahawks have 11 picks, while the Bills, Bears, Lions, Dolphins, Jets, Rams, & Chargers all have 6 picks each.
For clarification: any team that drafts a player has his rights until the moment said player signs with another team and/or is cut. This is for easiness in that the rules don’t stipulate that a player must sign with the team that drafted him to count as being on the roster. Aside from the draft, the NHL/NBA playoffs are in full swing, the Kentucky Derby, & of course the Mayweather vs Pacquiao fight. Will any NFL big shots be in Vegas for the fight? Will Wes Welker say hi to molly and pass out benji’s at the derby again? Only time will tell, May 2 can’t get here soon enough…
There has been one confirmed NFL arrest since the last update. You may have heard that a football player named Geno Smith got a DUI, yes that it true, but he plays for the University of Alabama, not the New York Jets. The Crimson Tide are having themselves quite a 5 day period with 3 arrests for DUI,domestic violence assault/criminal mischief, and marijuana. Roll Damn Tide. The lone NFL arrest of the week belongs to New Orleans and the Saints go marching in on the arrest board with an resisting arrest charge.
New Orleans Saints CB Brian Dixon
-Resisting an Officer without violence(misdemeanor)
Mr. Dixon was arrested on Sunday 3/29 early in the morning for resisting an officer, after being pulled over on his moped in Miami Beach. He questioned the officer why it wasn’t permitted and that led to his arrest. Later in the morning, Dixon tweeted, “It hurts to know that I wasn’t causing no trouble and was fully cooperating. 😦 ” I think we can take his tweet 10x more seriously because of the sad face. 2 points for the resisting an officer, as it is being counted it as a crime against justice. This Saints off-season gets better with their first arrest.
The fantasy crime surprise Green Bay Packers remain in 1st place, with the Baltimore Ravens and Indianapolis Colts trailing not far behind at 2nd and 3rd. The 49ers, Cowboys, Cardinals, Saints, and Steelers round out 4th, 6th, 6th, 7th and 8th respectively. There are 8 NFL teams on the board. Each conference has 5 arrests each, and the NFC has an arrest in each division. AFC North is leading the league in arrests and tied for most points as well. We are about 2 months into the off-season and about to get some new blood in with the NFL draft later this month. Leaving plenty more chances for points to be earned! There has been 1 confirmed arrest since the last update. Looks like there was some luck and there was an arrest post-St. Paddy’s Day. The arrest belongs to no other than the Fantasy Crime League juggernaut, the Baltimore Ravens. Their roster now has 1 RB more spot to fill. Glad to know that this team is taking a stand against crime. Those accused of committing crimes, quoth the Ravens GM, will be on the team “nevermore”.
Former Baltimore Ravens RB Bernard Pierce
-Driving Under the Influence (Misdemeanor)
“Once upon a midnight dreary, Mr. Pierce operated a vehicle, allegedly drunk and weary,
After many a quaint and curious volume of alcohol poured,
While he drove, maybe napping, suddenly there came a tapping,
As an officer was forcibly rapping, rapping at his car door.”
Mr. Pierce was arrested in Towson, MD around 2 am. on Wednesday, March 18 after he was stopped for going 20 mph over the limit. He failed all three field sobriety tests. Upon getting arrested, Pierce told the officer, “Do you know what happened the last time a Ravens player got a DUI? I’m getting cut tomorrow. Not like you care.” Although the officer may not care, we here at the Fantasy Crime League do. If football doesn’t work out, Mr. Pierce may have a career in being a psychic. He was correct about being cut from the Ravens, but incorrect about the date as he got the boot the very same day. 3 points total for the DUI.
The Green Bay Packers with 10 points remain in first place in the Fantasy Crime League, but by the slimmest of margins. The Baltimore Ravens have sole possession of second place with 9 points. The Indianapolis Colts remain in third at 6 points. The San Francisco 49ers, Dallas Cowboys, Arizona Cardinals, and Pittsburgh Steelers round out 4th, 6th, and 7th places respectively. The rest of the NFL teams, are yet to get on the board.
