Jets in holding pattern at 1st place, Vikings on the board, 49ers & Packers jump in standings.

Well folks, there have been 2 arrests, 1 formally charged, and 1 violating house arrest since the last update. We are getting into the home stretch of Fantasy Crime, weather is nice, training camps are a couple of weeks out, etc. Let’s get into them.

Green Bay Packers DL Letroy Guion

Early morning June 21, Mr. Guion was arrested in Hawaii for DUI after failing a breathalyzer. He has had previous run ins with the law and is currently suspended for 1st 4 games due to violating the NFL PED policy. Now he can say aloha to the personal conduct policy as well. 3 points for the DUI, 1 bonus point for it being his 30th birthday. I did hear from a Packer fan that he was snappin and having all these social media posts about partying haha. Do they not have taxi’s or ubers in Hawaii? Remember when the actors of ABC’s hit television show LOST got the axe after their DUI’s? Wonder if that will hold true here as well. 4 points for the Green Bay Packers.

New York Jets LB Lorenzo Mauldin
Assault (Misdmeanor)
Stemming from an incident at a nightclub on April 2, Mr. Mauldin was arrested after turning himself in on June 21 for misdemeanor assault. He allegedly punched another man after he accidentally spilled champagne on him. The victim had several facial injuries. Mr. Mauldin maintains his innocence and says it was someone else who attacked that man. 3 points for the Jets. J-E-T-S.

Former San Francisco 49ers CB Tramaine Brock **Arrested as 49er, charged as FA. still counts**
-Child Endangerment (Misdemeanor)
-Domestic Violence (Felony)
So from his April arrest that led to his release from the niners, earlier this month- Mr. Brock was formally charged with domestic violence and child endangerment. Allegedly there were multiple incidents where he punched/ attempted to strangle his girlfriend over disputes such as what to watch on television. One of these incidents involves the child, where she was holding their own kid in her arms. So the total points are 4 for felony domestic violence, 3 for child endangerment (counting it as putting someone directly in danger) +1 bonus point for domestic violence. 8 points total. I had awarded 2 points previously for this so it is 6 net points for the 49ers.

Minnesota Vikings WR Michael Floyd
-Violated house arrest terms
On 6/26, Mr. Floyd went to court as a result of failed breathalyzer tests while under house arrest. He maintained that it was because of kombucha tea, which was also encouraged by his employer- the Minnesota Vikings, who stood by their reciever. He was sentenced to 1 day in jail and had to serve the remaining 5 house arrest days in Arizona. 1 point for the Vikings.

Well the Jets remain in 1st place with 24 points. The Colts are 2nd place with 16 points. The Ravens are in 3rd place with 14 points. The 49ers jump to 4th place with 8 points. The Packers are right behind in 5th place with 7 points.  The Seahawks are 6th place with 6 points. Da Bears are tied in 8th place with the Denver Broncos, both with 5 points each. The Cowboys are in 9th place with 4 points. The Panthers and Giants are tied in 11th place with 3 points, as both have the arrest tier tiebreaker over the Redskins who are in 12th place. In 13th place are the Chargers with 2 points, holding the tiebreaker over the Cardinals  who are in 14th place. The Chiefs are in 15th place with also 2 points, as they are behind on the other tiebreaker ( less # of arrests). Lastly, rounding out the board tied for 17th place are the  Rams and Vikings both with 1 point. Summer is officially here and  a holiday weekend is upon us- the 4th of July. Please celebrate our country’s star spangled awesomeness safely.  Have a great rest of the week and be sure to get all the latest fantasy crime news right here. Take care.

Missed April Arrests- 49ers/Redskins/Cardinals/Seahawks

After doing some internal review, just realized that last month, the arrests of the San Francisco 49ers,Washington Redskins, Arizona Cardinals, and Seattle Seahawks were inadvertently left off during the month of April. We apologize for the error. Let’s review.

Seattle Seahawks QB Trevone Boykin
-Violation of Probation

Seahawks QB Trevone Boykin arrested on warrant for probation violation

From the last arrest where Mr. Boykin was a passenger in a car that hit a bar, his reputation he continues to mar. I saw this one coming from afar, he violated his probation- so he was arrested on a warrant.
This is a separate crime. One point for the violation which is one point total for the Seattle Seahawks.

Arizona Cardinals WR Marquis Bundy
disorderly conduct (misdemeanor)
failure to obey a police officer (misdemeanor)

Early Saturday morning April 1, Mr. Bundy was arrested by Scottsdale police after an incident at International Nightclub originating from his lost hat. He was involved in a scuffle and the officers asked him several times to calm down, after he did not, Mr. Bundy was arrested for disorderly conduct and failure to obey a police officer. He was booked and later released. The Cardinals are aware of the arrest and deferring to the NFL for the personal conduct policy. No word on if he recovered his hat. 1 point each for the misdemeanors, 2 points total for the cardinals.

Washington Redskins LB Junior Galette
-Disorderly conduct (misdemeanor)
-Failure to comply with police officer (misdemeanor)

On Friday night, April 7, Mr. Galette was arrested in Mississippi after he allegedly got into a fight outside a concert at MGM Park. Once police arrived, he ran after being told to stop, and was also tasered in the process. He was booked and released on disorderly conduct and failure to comply with police officer. The skins are aware of the arrest and have no further comment. 1 point a piece for the charges and taser bonus. 3 points for the Washington Redskins.

Now Former San Francisco 49ers CB Tramaine Brock
-Suspicion of Domestic Violence (Felony)

On Thursday April 6th, in the evening, Mr. Brock was arrested after authorities responded to a domestic violence call. The female victim, who he was in a relationship with, was found at the scene to have visible injuries. He was booked and later released on Friday morning, also the 49ers released Mr. Brock that afternoon as well. Now I have looked at several sources, can’t seem to find one that says definitively he was charged, the investigation is still on going. I have reached out to Santa Clara PD on twitter to confirm, but have not heard anything. So for now, 1 arrest point, and 1 bonus point for the boot within the 24 hour time frame. Although he has been released, if he does get charged, it will be as a 49er since he was on the roster at the time of the alleged incident.
Yes, this is being treated differently than the Greene indictment, but only because the legal process (arrest) began with him being a 49er and it was during the off-season.

We have been searching through news outlets (not FAKE NEWS) for updates that states he was charged, if he is, then the points will go through. I can’t find his case on the Santa Clara County Criminal Index, but not sure how often they update it.

Jets remain in 1st place with 21 points. The Colts are 2nd place with 16 points. The Ravens are in 3rd place with 12 points. The Seahawks jump to 4th place with 6 points. Da Bears are in 5th place with 5 points. The Panthers are in 6th place with 3 points, have the arrest tier tiebreaker over the Packers and Redskins who are both in 8th place. In 9th place are the Chargers with 2 points, holding the tiebreaker over the Cardinals and 49ers, who are tied for 11th place. The Chiefs are in 12th place with also 2 points, as they are behind on the other tiebreaker ( less # of arrests). Lastly, rounding out the board in 13h place with 1 point is the Rams.
Hope you all may forgive this transgression. Take care everyone, please be sure to get your latest fantasy crime news right here!

Divisional Rivals, Now Partners in Alleged Crime- Bears and Packers, also Seahawks on the board.

Hope you are doing well. Spring is here, March Madness is over, baseball is back in session, and the masters is on this week. Soon it will be the NHL/NBA playoffs and then football will be back before you know it! There have been 3 arrests since the last update. Let’s get into them.

Green Bay CB Makinton Dorleant
Interference (Misdemeanor)

Chicago Bears CB Deiondre Hall
Interference (Misdemeanor)
Public Intoxication (Misdemeanor)
Disorderly Conduct (Misdemeanor)

On 3/26 early Sunday Morning Mr. Hall and Dorleant were involved in an incident at the bar, Sharkey’s Fun House in Iowa, where bouncers refused them entry and then police were called. Mr Hall was intoxicated and caused a scene- the police had to tase him after he resisted arrest. Mr. Dorleant allegedly tried to grab Mr. Hall and pull him away from the officer, while the police instructed him to stay back. Both were booked and later released on bond. Hall was charged with Interference, public intoxication, and disorderly conduct, Bonus point for taser. 2 + 1+ 1 +1 = 5 points for da bears! Dorleant was charged with interference and bonus point for 1st I believe, divisionial rival arrests, if not first multiple team arrests. 2 +1 = 3 points for the Packers.
That’s right, the Bears beat the Packers where it really counts- the FCL scoreboard.

Seattle Seahawks QB Trevone Boykin
-Public intoxication (Misdemeanor)
-Possession of Marijuana (Misdemeanor)

Early Monday morning 3/27 at 2 am, Mr. Boykin was a passenger in a car that crashed
into a Dallas bar. Mr. Boykin’s friend, Shabrika Bailey, allegedly was intoxicated and backed into the bar, while trying to leave a parking garage. Several people were injured, they were pedestrians and bar patrons/workers. She was charged with 2 counts of intoxication assault. Mr. Boykin left the scene of the accident but police found his ID and debit card and Ms. Bailey called him to come back. Upon returning, Boykin spoke with police and he was intoxicated as well, also the police allegedly found a Gucci bag with 7 grams of marijuana. So he was charged with public intoxication and possession of marijuana. He was released from custody Monday afternoon. The Seahawks are aware of the arrest and are disappointed. 3 points for the drug possession, 1 point for public intox and 1 bonus point for the . 5 points for the Seattle Seahawks.

Well Jets and Colts are still tied for 1st place with 16 points each on 1 arrest. Ravens are in 3rd place with 12 points. Seahawks are in 4th place with 5 points and hold the tiebreaker over Bears with also 5 points due to the higher arrest tier charge. In 6th place are the Packers with 3 points. In 7th place are the Chargers with 2 points. Tied for 9th place with 1 point are the Rams and Chiefs. updates on their arrests are below. Be sure to get all your latest Fantasy Crime League news right here. Take Care

*Rams DE Ethan Westbrooks was not charged with his arrest related to domestic violence.

** Chiefs TE Demetrius Harris I believe still hasn’t been formally charged with felony marijuana possession- KC just signed another Tight End to a 1 year deal so maybe they are thinking he will be suspended for a little bit.

February started off with a bang, will there be March Mayhem?

Since the last update, there have been 2 NFL arrests, one of which resulted in no charges. There has been a lull in Fantasy Crime Activity for the past couple of weeks and we believe that those reasons will be over soon.
1. Spring is just around the corner
2. Free agents can sign their new contracts March 10.
We are pretty sure that they will find some ways to “celebrate” their new and improved contracts or just “enjoy” the warmer weather.

Former Baltimore Ravens CB Victor Hampton
-DWI (Misdemeanor)
-Reckless Driving (Misdemeanor)
-Open Container (Misdemeanor)

On February 28, 2015 Mr. Hampton was pulled over in Charlotte for doing 100 mph in a 55 mph zone. His BAC was found to be .10. Also Mr. Hampton’s passengers allegedly hid weapons under the front passengers seats, as they were charged with carrying a concealed weapon, carrying a weapon after consuming alcohol and open container charges. Following the arrest and charges, Mr. Hampton was dropped from his contract with the Ravens. The Ravens led the Fantasy Crime League in the number of arrests last year and it took them a month, but they are now on the board. They have a next criminal up mentality in Baltimore. 3 points for DWI, 2 points for reckless driving, and 1 point for open container. 6 points total.

Green Bay Packers DB Jarrett Bush
-Public Intoxication (Not Charged)

Mr. Bush was arrested in California for public intoxication following a kerfuffle at an Italian restaurant on March 1, 2015. When the authorities arrived, Mr. Bush refused to leave the establishment and was causing a disturbance, he was then arrested. Mr. Bush was cooperative in custody and then released without charges. Looks like Mr. Bush met his peers at the wrong time in our Italian restaurant. This off season, the Green Bay Packers have had 2 arrests, which is unprecedented activity for them in the Fantasy Crime League. No charges, no points.

Notes about franchise tags- these tagged players are with their 2014 team going into the 2015 off-season. Houston (KC), Bryant (DAL), Clay (MIA), Gostkowski (NE), D.Thomas (DEN), & Pierre-Paul (NYG)

If a player was not tagged ie. Suh, he is still with the Lions until March 10  at the time his contract expires- 4 pm EDT, after that, he is a free agent until he signs with an NFL team. All free agents- restricted or unrestricted will be treated the same.

The Green Bay Packers are still the surprise of the off-season, leading the competition with 10 points. Traditional Fantasy Crime League powers: the Indianapolis Colts and Baltimore Ravens are tied for 3rd place with 6 points a piece, and America’s Team, the Dallas Cowboys, are in 4th place- on the board with 3 points. The rest of the league has no points. Once free agency hits and players sign, we have a feeling they may not be as well-behaved as they have been previously. The Fantasy Crime League will be sure to keep you updated on all the off-season activity.

Only halfweek through the 1st week & there’s been plenty of action!

Well folks, it sure looks like the NFL’s VP of public relations is going to have another busy off-season.

There have been 4 NFL player arrests this week, 5 if you count alumni.

Let’s start out with the near miss:

Former Baltimore Raven DT Terrance Cody has been indicted for:

  • Two counts of aggravated animal cruelty. (Felony)
  • Five counts of animal abuse or neglect involving a dog. (Misdemeanor)
  • One count of illegal possession of an alligator. (Misdemeanor)
  • Five counts of animal abuse or neglect involving an alligator. (Misdemeanor)
  • One count of possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia. (Misdemeanor)
  • One count of possession of marijuana. (Misdemeanor)

Earlier last month, it was reported that Mr. Cody would be released by the Ravens, it should be noted that he was set to become a free agent. The reason for the otherwise unusual release announcement would be that he was under investigation for animal cruelty. The Ravens probably needed to do this ahead of time after last year’s league leading 5 offseason arrests, including the Ray Rice fiasco.  What could be greater than golf with a gator? Apparently it sounds like Mr. Cody was trying to find out.  He was indicted on February 2, 2015, which also was the same day he was released.  Due to the fact that Mr. Cody was released before he was indicted, none of these alleged crimes will count towards the Fantasy Crime League.

These 3 arrests do count for inclusion in the Fantasy Crime League.

Green Bay Packers DT Leroy Guion

  • Possession of Marijuana (Felony)
  • Possession of a firearm (Felony)

Mr. Guion was arrested in Florida, Tuesday night, 2/3, after being pulled over. He was found to have 190 grand in cash, 357 grams of marijuana and a handgun. The Green Bay Packers typically do not make a splash in free agency as they also do in the fantasy crime league, but it looks like Mr. Guion should have (discount) double checked his stash and cash, because in Florida- felony possession is 20 grams and up, according to The felony drug charge and felony gun charge are 5 points a piece, 10 points total for the Green Bay Packers.

Dallas Cowboys RB Joseph Randle

  • Unlawful Possession of Marijuana (Misdemeanor)

Well it seems that Mr. Randle has found himself within the long arm of the law again. Last time, he was arrested for shoplifting underwear and cologne. Early Tuesday morning, 2/3, Mr. Randle was arrested for unlawful possession of marijuana in Kansas after police responded to a domestic disturbance with a weapon call which led them to his hotel room.  There’s has been no confirmation on where the alleged marijuana was found, but we could imagine the police checked the underwear drawer first. 3 points for the misdemeanor drug charge.

Indianapolis Colts LB D’Qwell Jackson

  • Assault (Misdemeanor)

Mr. Jackson is the player who assisted in setting off  the #Deflategate / #Ballghazi story by intercepting Tom Brady in that AFC championship beatdown. He was arrested Tuesday night 2/3, for allegedly punching a pizza delivery driver after disputing a parking spot. “It’s not assault, it’s your face meeting an NFL player’s fist” 3 points for the misdemeanor assault charge.

Well folks, all this happened through Tuesday, let’s see if we can get through 24 hours without an NFL arrest. Either way, surely we will keep you all updated here at the Fantasy Crime League.
